This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, processes, and protects information when you use our educational services, language courses, interactive handwriting practice, quizzes, pronunciation trainer, and AI Tutor conversation features.
Summary: We built Learn English as a safe, user-friendly language education application. We do not sell your personal data. Audio recordings are processed ephemerally in real-time for speech recognition and are not stored on our servers. Writing/stroke recognition is performed on-device. We only request permissions necessary to deliver the app's features.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
A. Voice and Audio Data (Microphone)
Learn English provides voice-enabled interactive exercises, including speaking pronunciation tests in quizzes and conversational practice with our interactive AI Tutors (Arin and Devi).
Collection & Processing: When you use voice features, audio from your device microphone is converted into text in real time using the device's speech recognition engine.
Retention: We do not record, store, or archive your raw voice audio on remote servers. Speech data is processed transiently and discarded immediately once converted to text for your learning session.
B. AI Tutor Conversations and Text Input
When you interact with our AI English Tutors, the text messages and language questions you send are processed securely to provide instant conversational replies, vocabulary suggestions, and grammar corrections.
Chat conversations and learning progress are stored locally on your device in your app storage so you can review previous practice sessions.
Requests are transmitted securely over HTTPS to our AI processing services solely to generate educational dialogue.
C. Handwriting and Stroke Data
Our handwriting and letter tracing module utilizes Google ML Kit Digital Ink Recognition. Character drawing strokes are evaluated entirely on your device in real time to assess accuracy. No drawings or handwriting strokes are uploaded or transmitted to external servers.
D. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
We offer optional premium features through auto-renewing subscriptions (e.g., monthly and yearly VIP plans with a 3-day free trial) that provide an ad-free learning environment and unlimited AI tutor access.
All payments and financial transactions are securely processed directly by Google Play In-App Billing.
We never access, collect, or store your credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or billing addresses. We only receive a transaction receipt/token from Google Play confirming whether your subscription is active.
E. Device and Technical Information
When you use the app, standard device-level information may be collected automatically by third-party analytics and advertising SDKs:
Device model, manufacturer, and hardware specifications.
Operating system version and system language.
Internet Protocol (IP) address and network connection state.

4. Advertising and User Choices
To keep the majority of our English learning courses free for everyone, we display advertisements provided by Google AdMob and partner networks.
Ads may be personalized based on your interests or non-personalized, depending on your device settings and regional consent regulations (e.g., GDPR/EEA user consent).
You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertisements at any time in your device settings by going to: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization.
Users who prefer an entirely ad-free experience can upgrade to Learn English Pro through the in-app subscription screen.
5. Data Safety & Security (Google Play Compliance)
We take data safety very seriously and follow industry-standard security measures:
Encryption in Transit: All communications between the app and external endpoints (such as dictionary lookups and AI tutor requests) are secured using standard HTTPS/TLS encryption.
On-Device Storage: Your course progress, vocabulary favorites, and conversation history are stored locally in private application storage.
No Sale of Personal Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Data Retention: Information collected by analytics tools is retained only as long as necessary to aggregate diagnostic metrics.
6. User Rights, Data Control, and Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
Permission Management: You can grant or revoke microphone and notification permissions at any time via Settings → Apps → Learn English → Permissions.
Local Data Deletion: You can delete all your stored chat history, bookmarks, and learning progress at any time by selecting Clear Data / Clear Storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the application.

7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Learn English is designed for general audiences seeking to learn and improve English language skills. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).
